Shrii Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar: Expanded Version of Collected Works in English

An expanded and revised edition (7.5), as of October 2010, of P.R. Sarkar’s collected works in English has been published. The CD contains all of the books by P.R. Sarkar originally in English or translated into English as of October, 2010.  All Sarkar’s works on PROUT are included.

Between 1955 and 1990 P.R. Sarkar through his discourses and dictations produced material for what has now become a total of 268 books, some of them originally published in Bengali, some in English, and some in Hindi. He wrote in the name Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar when treating sociology, economics, philology, history and various other subjects, and when writing children’s tales; and in the name Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrti when focusing on spiritual topics.

The collection includes 1271 articles from 138 books, all in the latest editions including a few articles that have not yet been published in book form. The edition contains a search engine and tools for locating and displaying text.

  1. We checked with the Ananda Marga translations at Kolkata. A person there writes that others have raised the same question earlier and that a clarification is underway. We would be happy to let you know once a clarification arrives. Until then, we could point to the fact that the long and detailed material on “Plexi and Microvita” consistently refers to Visdhuddha as solar, etc. whereas the reference to Anahata as solar in the other material is singular and could therefore be inferred to be an isolated mixup. The clarification will let us know.

    I recently bought a copy of the electronic edition of the Collected Works of Sarkar and found what appears to be a (very confusing) contradiction. Namely, in the edition of Bio-Psychology 3 June 1987, Calcutta, we read: “Solar plexus [located at the mid-point of the chest]”. Clearly the location of the Anahata Chakra. Further, descriptions of the qualities associated with this cakra and plexus (love, etc.) make it clear that the anahata is meant.

    However, in the edition of Plexi and Mircovita 10-12 June 1989, Calcutta, we read: “The solar plexus (vishudda cakra). This reference to the vishudda as being the solar plexus and the anahata as being the sidereal plexus is repeated.

    This seems a strange error to make. I cannot believe Anandamurti contradicted himself. So, am I mistaken in my understanding? Could you please clarify this for me.
